For 21 years the Rosebud Film and Video Festival has recognized and honored the innovative, experimental and deeply personal in regional film and video making.
Each year our annual competition awards large cash prizes, valuable products and services as well as theatrical and cable televison showcases to deserving film and video artists, providing many opportunities for artistic growth and professional exposure.
The 2011 competition is open to all works first released between January 1, 2009 and September 25, 2011.
An independent panel of judges will select up to 20 nominees from which 5 winners including one Best of Show will be chosen. In addition to promotional opportunites the 5 winners each receive $1,000.00 cash.
Arlington Independent Media (AIM), home of the Rosebud Festival, is the non-profit membership organization providing media production training, a professional production facility, and the Arlington County Virginia public access cable television channels (Comcast channel 69/Verizon channel 38). The AIM production facility is equipped with a three-camera studio, DV-Cam portable production equipment, Final Cut Pro edit suites, and a four-camera mobile production van. All equipment is available to members who have completed our television production workshops and intend to create programming for the channel.
All Rosebud entrants receive one-year free membership in Arlington Independent Media.
NOMINEES: Inclusion in the 2011 Rosebud Nominee Showcase, media exposure and additional area theatrical and television showcases.
5 WINNERS: In addition to the above, 5 winners will receive the 2011 Rosebud Award, and a $1,000 cash prize.
